Employees of the City of Gonzales Parks Department (Belinda Walker, Tanner Walker, David Cantu, Joseph Padilla, Devin Taylor and Albert Ramos) volunteered their time last Sunday morning to trim overgrown trees at GCAM on St. Lawrence.  According to the group, a representative of GCAM contacted the city for help in dealing with tree branches on their roof and hanging over their parking lot.  The owner of the property next door, where the trees are rooted, gave the city permission to cut whatever needed to be trimmed.  The team of volunteers also cleaned up the branches, leaves and other debris from the parking lot.  The group told The Cannon that City Manager David Huseman wants city employees to get mroe involved in community projects.
