Burglars busted in Nixon

On Saturday, Dec. 5, at approximately 4 a.m., the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a burglary in progress at the residence located at 400 North Lowery Street in Nixon, Texas. 
According to Chief Deputy Dennis J. Richter, Deputy Gary Soefje responded to the incident and located and arrested Justin Villegas, 17 years of age of the Nixon, Texas. 
Soefje reported a second suspect fled the scene upon his arrival. According to Chief Richter, Lieutenant Jeromy Belin and Inv. Matthew Atkinson continued the investigation, learning the identity of the second suspect. 
On Dec. 5, Justin Villegas was charged with burglary of a habitation and was placed in the Gonzales County Jail in lieu of a $10,000.00 bond. 
The second suspect, a juvenile, is currently being sought in connection with the incident.
