The Gonzales ISD Board of Trustees on Monday approved a new tiered plan for substitute teacher pay and moved forward with finalizing the district’s budget and tax rate for the 2010-2011 school year.

For the first time ever, two Gonzales ISD campuses are expected to be rated as “Recognized” based on their performances on the second round of TAKS tests, school trustees were told Monday night, while the district’s teachers and staff can look forward to a three percent pay raise.

The Gonzales ISD received its notification of spring TAKS scores late Thursday and will be using its automated phone system to inform parents when they can expect their children to be released from school on Friday -- a one-day delay in the final day of school.
