The Gonzales Economic Development Corporation discussed the proposed purchase of 11.22 acres on Water St., during their meeting Monday night.
The property is adjacent to Independence Park and owned by Darrell Kifer. Gonzales City Manager David Huseman signed a Farm and Ranch Contract with Kifer in January 2010, regarding the purchase of the land in the amount of $61,710.00, on behalf of GEDC.

Noisy brakes in city limits was just one of the topics at the Gonzales city council meeting Tuesday night. The council approved an ordinance adopting a prohibition on auxiliary or compression engine brakes.

District Attorney Heather Hollub stated this week that she believes voter fraud and misconduct occurred during the 2008 Gonzales Mayoral or City Council election. But despite that belief she announced this week that her office will not be investigating allegations of that voter fraud.
