Reader responds to Uganda orphans column
Dear Editor:
I’m very excited to tell you that one of your readers responded to my article on “The Art of a Thankful Heart” by sending a check for $200 to sponsor the education of one of our Uganda Orphans for the next year.
Just to review, the Episcopal Church of the Messiah currently sponsors 16 Ugandan orphans, enabling them to get an education, which is not free in their country. The cost covers school fees, uniforms and a few incidentals necessary to their education like lanterns and fuel for the entire year, at only $250 for secondary level and $200 for primary level. There are still hundreds on a waiting list.
I’d love to share this ministry with the wider community. I’m available for presentations (slides, DVD and me!) as well. If interested, please contact Fr. Randy Melton at 830-672-3407 and I’ll be happy to talk to you about it sponsoring a child or setting up a presentation at your church or workplace. Please leave a message if you don’t get an answer and I’ll call you back.
Fr. Randy Melton

the Messiah, Gonzales
