Cannon to launch 'e-edition" May 3
Gonzales Cannon general manager Dave Mundy announced Friday some changes to the paper’s circulation coverage and rates.
All residents of The Cannon’s five-county coverage region (Gonzales, Caldwell, DeWitt, Fayette and Lavaca counties) will now be offered the same yearly subscription fee of $22. That print subscription will include free inclusion on our “e-edition” list.
Beginning with our May 3 edition, The Cannon will begin offering its “e-edition” only to subscribers via e-mail. Readers in our five-county service region who currently have print subscriptions need only contact Circulation manager Sanya Harkey with your e-mail address to be included for free. E-mail her at circulation@gonzalescannon.com.
For the last several months, the e-edition link has been posted for free on our website.
Readers outside the five-county region, outside the state of Texas or outside the country, will now have an option of receiving a print edition or switching their subscription to the e-edition. All out-of-region rates will be $24.
“The advantage to the folks out of the region in switching to the e-edition is that they will get the link to our complete paper in PDF format that they can view immediately, instead of waiting however many days it takes for the mail to get there,” Mundy said. “As newspaper technology improves, we’re seeing more and more people taking advantage of this method as their primary way of reading the newspaper on their kindle, home computer or even smart-phone.”
The circulation changes will not otherwise affect The Cannon’s website at www.gonzalescannon.com, Mundy said.
“We will continue to use our website as if we’re a daily newspaper, which means we’ll continue updating as news develops,” he said.
