Shiner council to meet Sept. 2

The Shiner City Council is scheduled to meet Sept. 2, at 6 p.m. at the municipal building. Items of old business include introduction of a new administrative employee, Larissa Blaschke, discussion about Shiner ISD tennis courts, discussion and action on the variance concerning the pre-treatment plant at the Spoetzl Brewery.
New business items include designating May 22 of each year as William Elmo Merrem Day, failure to comply to the condemnation of the Shiner Townsite block, the proposed flood damage prevention ordinance, setting the new tax rates and more.
