Wildcats await first playoff opponent

The Waelder Wildcats drew a first-round bye in the Class 1A Division 2 boys' basketball playoffs and entered Tuesday awaiting the outcome of a game between Chirenzo and Fayetteville.

If Chirenzo is the opponent, the teams will square off in Magnolia on Friday. If Fayetteville is the opponent, school officialas will meet to determine the location with either Schulenburg or LaGrange the likeliest courts.
